1. Introduction

Readality Inc. ("Readality", "we", "our", or "us") is a company incorporated in Quebec, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Readality application on Meta Quest and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information from Meta Horizon

When you use Readality on Meta Quest, we receive the following data from Meta Horizon:

• User ID — your Meta account identifier, used to recognize you across sessions

• Avatar data — your personal Meta avatar appearance, loaded via the Meta Avatar SDK

• Device data — headset position, head rotation, and hand/controller tracking data, used to represent your presence in shared reading sessions

2.2 Information You Provide

• Account information — email address and display name if you register directly with Readality

• Reading activity — books and comics you open, pages you turn, and reading sessions you participate in

• Purchase history — records of content, environments, and collectibles you purchase through the Service

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

• Session data — connection timestamps, room identifiers, and session duration

• Device information — headset model and operating system version

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate you and manage your account

• Load and display your personal Meta avatar in multiplayer reading sessions

• Sync your reading progress and current page across devices and sessions

• Process and verify in-app purchases

• Enable shared reading rooms where multiple users can read together in real time

• Improve and maintain the Service

• Respond to your support requests

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, who process it on our behalf:

Photon (Exit Games GmbH) — Germany

We use Photon PUN2 for real-time multiplayer networking. Photon receives your Meta User ID (as a room player property) and your device tracking data (head and hand position/rotation) in order to synchronize your avatar presence with other users in the same reading room. Photon operates servers globally including in the United States, Europe, and Asia. For more information, see Photon's Privacy Policy.

Readality Backend (Canada)

We operate our own servers in Canada to manage user authentication, content access, reading progress, and purchase verification. Your User ID and session data are processed on these servers.

5. In-App Purchases

Readality offers durable in-app purchases through Meta's In-App Purchase system, including:

• Individual comic and book episodes

• Full volumes

• Reading environments and spaces

• Digital collectibles

All payment transactions are processed entirely by Meta. We receive confirmation of your purchase entitlements but do not receive your payment card details or billing information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights

As a user, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you

• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information

• Delete your personal data (subject to legal obligations)

• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

• Lodge a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) if you believe your privacy rights have been violated

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
